Harvest-Tide Hail
Words by Analemma McKee-Schwenke
Music: Not sure - perhaps one version of Star in the East (from an 1800's hymnal?)

Sorry, I know the recording quality is pretty bad, but it's better than nothing!

Now is the season of rejoicing;
Earth to us her bounty has shown.
Throughout the summer gentle rains and
Fierce thunderstorms have watered our land.
Hail Ingvi Frey and hail mighty Thunderer,
Hail to the day and the sun's golden light.
Hail to the elves and hail to the land wights,
Hail to the Earth who feeds us all.

Rich fields of grain as gold as Sif's hair
Are cut and baled for winter's hay.
Bees' golden treasure now is fermenting;
Next summer we'll have mead to share.
Hail Ingvi Frey and hail mighty Thunderer
Hail to the day and the sun's golden light.
Hail to the elves and hail to the land wights,
Hail to the Earth who feeds us all.

Fruit-bearing trees no longer are laden.
Preserved and dried that fruit will sustain.
Veggies are canned and down in the cellar there
Hangs a profusion of onions and squash.
Hail Ingvi Frey and hail mighty Thunderer
Hail to the day and the sun's golden light.
Hail to the elves and hail to the land wights,
Hail to the Earth who feeds us all.

Milkers are dried and no longer milking but the
Cheese that we have will last 'til spring.
Now that the slaughter tide is ended
We've meat to freeze and dry and feast.
Hail Ingvi Frey and hail mighty Thunderer
Hail to the day and the sun's golden light.
Hail to the elves and hail to the land wights,
Hail to the Earth who feeds us all.

And though we may not all work the land
We know it's her yield that keeps us alive.
So we give thanks for this bountiful harvest and for
Our jobs which keep our own tables full.
Hail Ingvi Frey and hail mighty Thunderer,
Hail to the day and the sun's golden light.
Hail to the elves and hail to the land wights,
Hail to the Earth who feeds us all.
